HEAVEN HOTEL PRESENTS
Rudy Trouvé
Born in Wilrijk on 28/01/1967. Graduated from KASK (animation film direction with Raoul Servais) in 1990. Decides to become a painter and does his first exhibition that same year. Founds Heaven Hotel Presents in 1992, a production house for ; exhibitions, records and video experiments. Start with the groups: Kiss My Jazz, Gore Slut and Lionell Horrowitz and his combo. At the end of 1992 he became a member of dEUS. Records with their “Worst Case Scenario” and “My sister is my clock”. Provides the artwork for the first three dEUS albums. Tired of touring, he left the group in 1995. Still playing on three songs on “In a bar under the sea”, including “Roses”.
The first CDs on the Heaven Hotel label were released in 1996. Distributes at home and abroad. Collaborations with The Knitting Factory, Stickman, Virgin and Jesus Factory follow. In 1997 he started the band Dead Man Ray together with Daan. In 2003 he became a permanent member of the music theater company Braakland Zhe Bilding later the name changes to Het Nieuw Stedelijk. In 2018 he created the performance SCREEN together with Simon Allemeersch. A mix between film, performance, concert and theatre.
He plays and exhibits in Belgium and abroad (England, France, Netherlands, Spain). Is active in rock / folk / noice / pop / jazz and improvisation. Producer. Also makes: the artwork for records/ music for other theater companies/ soundtracks for short films/ video installations/ animation films/ video clips/ documentaries. and played on about 50 records.

ART His work is mostly about the glamor of depression. Loneliness, the difficulty of life, love, sex, nightlife…. And all this in cheerful colours. As a child, the photos and posters in the entrance halls of the former film palaces made a big impression. Images that suggest a story. As an adolescent he discovers Egon Schiele, Hugo Pratt and Andy Warhol. Later on, the covers of 1960s pulp books also become a major influence. From 2008 he also starts making animation films again. He lives and works in Deurne Noord.
