Theme

Approx. 400 lots comprising Romantic Master Paintings, bronze sculptures and fine furniture.

Amongst the paintings several pastoral landscapes from a.o. Jacques Janssens, Louis De Martelaere, Albertus Verhoesen, Eugène Verboeckhoven (after), Eugène Remy Maes and Etienne Leroy will be presented. Special attention goes to a collaboration between David De Noter and Florent Willems (lot 54, est. 3/4000€), a winter river landscape by Charlest Leickert from 1883 (lot 172, est. 12/15000€), Edward Portielje (lot 190) and Jan Portielje (lot 56, portrait of a girl playing the guitar, est. 6/8000€ and 'The Letter', lot 57, est. 8/10000€). Also present an interior from Ferdinand De Braekeleer (lot 189, est. 5/6000€) and an impressive double portrait from Jan Portaels (lot 76, 126 x 100 cm, est. 40/50000€).

Sculptures

Worth mentioning are: Jef Lambeaux, 'Cain and Abel' (lot 62, est.3/4000€), mythological work from a.o. Lucie Signoret-Ledieu (lot 92, est. 2/3000€) and rather romantic sculptures from Mathurin Moreau, Claude-Michel Clodion, Auguste Moreau, P.J.Mène (lots 193+194) and Pierre Lecourtier (lot 95, est.3/4000€).

The more traditional offer of chandeliers, European (French and German) porcelain, Asian objects comprising a rare chicken-blood-stone, lot 384, a Liège percussion duel case, est. 4/5000€, ivory, etc.
